Counseling Services

School Counselors are a necessary component to students' learning and overall development. When children are equipped with strong social and emotional skills, they become better learners. Educating students on interpersonal skills, problem solving, and conflict resolution are crucial at the elementary age.

Counseling for students may occur as a one-time session or on a repeated basis. Small group counseling and "Lunch Bunch" groups are also popular to support students in a variety of ways. Some groups I run throughout the year focus more specifically on topics such as changing families, school anxiety, and interpersonal conflicts. Others are less formal, and allow students to meet in a safe space to talk about an issue or just enjoy lunch while getting to know the counselor.

About Me - I received my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology at Caldwell University and am state certified as a School Counselor for Grades K-12. I majored in Psychology as an undergraduate at the University of Connecticut. I have 10+ years experience working in therapeutic environments with children of varied ages, needs & abilities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am passionate about art and play therapy, emotional intelligence in childhood development, and the importance of social/emotional learning in our schools.

Please feel free to contact me throughout the school year with any questions or concerns. I look forward to supporting our students in having a memorable school experience.
